As such, there were some predictable moments in regards to combat and quest progression. Didnt like premise at first but it was well executed and characters were solid and likable. Writing is goodoverall with the time.
It is nice reading about the character before he takes the virtual plunge. It helps show why he makes the choices he does in the game and shows depth. Looking forward to the next book. This is a riveting read, and despite the new world I've never played a Role-Playing Game it really doesn't read too differently from a thriller. It is a thriller, happening in an amazingly created computer game that is now the only real-life people will have following a world-ending event.
And what a world the author has created! We've all watched films like The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and this book which would make an awesomely visual film too, btw is full of similar monsters and villains, as well as unsuspecting heroes. In short, you have to ask yourself, do you like those books you can't put down?
Do you like books full of story, light on errors, and so well written that you are lost to the reading with every page?
