You would have to move your computer to a closer distance to the router to test Wifi strength. If the distance factor is the issue, you may want to consider relocating your router or getting a Wireless Extender. I find the antivirus and firewall can take a bite out of the speed since, most phones don't have that layer. And again, no, most phones don't need an antivirus or firewall.
